Delegate meters usage by what your agents' model calls cost, and bills it through Stripe.

Billing is an organization-level responsibility and lives entirely with admins, in Organization → Billing.
Subscribing
- Open Organization → Billing.
- Acknowledge the subscription terms and disclosures. This is recorded against your account, so it's a one-time step for the organization rather than a click-through on every change.
- Enter your card details and billing address. The card is held by Stripe; Delegate never sees or stores the number.
- Save. The subscription starts immediately and the free-tier trial limit stops applying.
Recent invoices on the same page lists what Stripe has charged, most recent first.
To stop, choose the cancel option on the same page. Cancelling ends the subscription; your agents, skills, and history stay where they are.
Budgets
A subscription doesn't cap spend — budgets do. They're the control that throttles or stops agents before the money is spent, and they're worth setting up at the same time you add a payment method:
- Hourly limits slow an agent down rather than stopping it.
- Daily and monthly limits are hard stops, set organization-wide and per agent.

What you're charged for
Model usage, priced from the provider's rates, plus Delegate's service fee where one applies. Usage & spend breaks this into Raw Token Cost (the provider's price) and Total Spend (your bill), per agent and per model.
Bring your own key
If your organization provides its own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, usage on that key is metered but not marked up — it shows in Usage & Spend and counts against your Budget, but Delegate doesn't add its service fee because you pay the provider directly. See Bring your own key.
Free tier
New organizations start on a free tier with a lifetime spend allowance — unlike every other limit in Delegate, it doesn't reset. Free models always cost nothing and never count against it.
Being on the free tier does not restrict which models you can use: an admin can enable any model the platform has published, on any tier. See Free tier & upgrading.
Questions about a charge
Start with Usage & spend — it attributes cost to individual agents and models over any date range, which answers most "why was this month higher?" questions. If an agent stopped rather than overspent, the enforcement audit log says which limit fired.
